Yes, generics are as effective as "brand". Manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, generics and brands are requiring strict accordance with the FDA rules on the same standard for drug manufacturers. Most states actually require pharmacists to fill prescriptions for generic drugs when available unless specifically requested by the prescribing physician.
